Hi I have really lost touch with computer bits and bobs. Think is it an age thing. Currently running a GTX 1060 6GB, and while good enough for what I do it does stutter a bit on the more graphic intensive games. What would be a good wee upgrade, prob second hand for this? Thanks

Hi. Sorry. No mans Sky, Truck Simulator, Farming sims sort of stuff. Haven't got the reflexes for the COD type shooters lol. Ryzan 5 2600 and 32GB ram. 1080 would be fines as not looking to break any records :)

RX 6600 is the cheapest new card I'd consider and according to TPU is 72% faster. Power consumption is good at around 130 watts.

4060 is over twice the speed, but will cost you a fair chunk more. It has similar power to the 6600, hence is more efficient.

3060 12GB is somewhere between the two of them, but does use more power than either card.

Yea cpu upgrade cos of them games you play would help the stutters out i.e 1 percent lows. The gpu might not need a upgrade id wait till your new cpu comes and try it with ur gpu. Tho a 12gig vram card would be beneficial in the long run and help out if any games are craving more vram vs the 1060 card u have. I woudnt go for a 1080 its getting on that architecture now. NMS would benefit from a good vram gpu imo. Whats ur budget if you do want a 2nd hand gpu? What is ur psu btw as that info will be useful to pick a card.

Actually the 1060 shouldnt be too bad in nms tbh.

Budget around £250 give or take. Don't mind going second hand if it would be a good upgrade to what I could get new. 10 or 12Gbv ram would give me some future proofing. Currently running a Kolink Enclave 700W. Had to go back through my Over clockers orders to get that info

6700xt is not too bad and has the vram, a 3070 is ok too and better raytracing if needed but less vram. and should be good with ur psu. 7600xt might be doable 2nd hand foe 250 ish i dunno tho id prefer a 6700xt tbh. Intel has a £250 gpu coming out next month that might be good i think so see reviews of that when its out?

amd has frame gen and fsr in drivers, nvidia has loads more features tho.
