Basically I sent them this mail about my z5500's:
I got a reply in dutch asking for my adress.
I sent them my adress and :
Run through babelfish if you're bothered, but basically they are sending me a new control pod even without asking for my receipt ( ofc I had to give them the PID/serial number, model number and part number). That's good service imo, they replied very quickly too, 1 day after the original message and only a few hours after my replies each time
. Didn't need to bother with a stupid retailer but instead they handled it for me, very satisfied
.
So hoping to get a new control pod within 2 weeks
.
Just thought I'd share.
Hello,
I have had these Z5500's for a while, after a few months the backlight started flashing on the control pod, dimming in and out, finally it kept turning on and off all the time rather than just changing the intensity of the light, and finally I went on a holiday for 2 weeks and when I came back the backlight would not turn on at all on the control pod, this used to be no issue as I always sat by my pc but these days I often sit in my bed and I just can't see anything on the screen in the dark... Is there a way to request RMA for just the control pod? I could pack the whole speaker set but this is kind of a hassle due to the cables, is there perhaps a way to request on site support rather than having to go to my retailer ( yes it's still within the 2 year warranty period) ?
