My dad owns a Peageot 307 1.6HDI SE which currently has 110,000 miles on the clock. its an '06 plate and i was just wondering if it would be worth selling/chopping in while it still had some vague value for a newer/new car or if its worth just running it into the ground?

I drive it too and between the both of us we get about 55mpg average.

opinions?

do you think im just chatting waffle because im young and like new shiny cars?

I'd be suprised if it still has some value anyway, its already worthless so unless you particularly want rid of it, you may as well keep it.

Looking at it pragmatically - does the car do what you need it to do? If the answer is yes then what benefit will you see from changing? Do you need something newer/faster/under warranty?

On the downside you'd be getting another car which has unknown provenance in comparison to what you have - I'm making the assumption that you've had this car for a while now so should have some idea of what is wrong with it/has been done on it.

we've had it for about a year and a half, we got it with 49000 on the clock so we have put some good miles on it.

ive seen ones go on auto trader for around £3000, and ours is well kept, interior looked after, never smoked in, always serviced on time.

Theres nothing wrong with it as far as i know. runs well. but just wondering if it will start to get expensive in the next 20000 miles or so.

Like I said, it isnt worth a huge amount so there is no rush to trade it whilst it still has value as relatively speaking it doesnt have any value.
