It has the commander mode which can trigger a flash unit remotely when that unit is set to slave, does anyone know if this is ONLY for SB speedlights from Nikon or would it work on say...ooh I dunno a SIgma 500 DG Super too which can be set as slave and master ?

I cannot find any info on what flash units support the remote mode but I suspect =it is any flash unit that has a slave setting though, just need confirmation, thanks!

Also I had a play with the 5D and D200 in a local store the other day, the 5D feels well rounded and nice, a bit like how the 350D felt first time I held it in my hand, it feels solid but it somehow didn't feel like a mag alloy body, perhaps that feeling wears in over time?

The d200 felt like the D2x right away, I don't know how to explain it but it just fit like it was made for everyones hand and felt real good.

AF speed was like Canon USM, fast and accurate too. They didn't have a 30D in but as said in other threads it's not diff to the 20D so wouldn't make much difference comparing - STill I was surprised how both felt first hand as I'd only read this stuff from others online prior to trying them out :)

As far as I know, it only works with the SB-600/800 and, I think, those new macro flashes, so you're probably out of luck with the Sigma.

tis ok now, it's probably not worth it in that case just for the extra costs.

Why don't you ring Sigma and ask them if it'll work ok?

I did exactly that yesterday when enquiring about the EF-500 DG Super for my KM7D, and they just told me what I needed to know (there are 2 versions of the Super, I need the latest which states ADI on it). Got one coming Friday for £155 delivered (also ordered a Sto-Fen diffuser too via a UK-based Ebay supplier (£16).
