Hi

Basically what I am wondering is, for gaming at 1280x1024 resolution in modern/upcoming games, is 256MB GPU memory enough on my HD3850 or do I need to upgrade? It's just, I'm checking on YouGamers now on their 3D Mark game-o-meter thing and pretty much every game I have checked (stuff like FC2, Crysis Warhead etc) it's just saying I need 512MB GPU memory, everthing else is fine. So is it imperative that I upgrade to be able to run these games on high settings or would I be ok considering I run at lower resolutions?

A cheap second hand 8800GT certainly wouldn't be a terrible idea

No 256mb isn't enough now, even at that res.

Would a 8800GT 512MB be suitable for todays games then? I might try and find one of those cheap if I can.
