If you remember a few months back I made a thread where I basically said I buggered up my life, failed my degree etc.

Anyway, I'm proud to say that even though I've got ways to go, I've actually put some effort into myself.

  1. Even with only a few weeks left, I applied myself to my course enormously. Got results back, and I'm looking at a 2:1 in most things and a 1st in one module (). Failed a few due to non attendance, but I've been given the chance of uncapped resits for them.
  2. Improved my fitness a fair bit. Gone from running mile and a halfs in like 15 minutes to 9 min's 30 second's. Can currently do pressups and pushups to army standards
  3. Got myself a job, working 7 days a week at the moment at night, getting home, sleeping for a few hours and then studying. Feels great.
So yeah, whilst not the biggest improvements in the world, and of no consequence to your good selves, I just thought I'd relay progress.

Going to study for the rest of the summer and work, and hopefully go back to university with the right attitude in mind, in the attempt at getting my life back on track.

Thanks for the support!

Good on ya fella. Keep at it.:)

If only I had the same drive, well done chap!

I think the point of kenmare posting is to point out that if he can turn himself around like this then others can too so you can hopefully take it as an inspiration. That's not to diminish his achievements in any way, just that I read it as something that others should be able to do as well. :)

Well done kenmare, you've obviously made a great effort so far, just remember to maintain it. It's almost always easier to keep going at a decent level than it is to let things slip and then try to drag yourself back up on a regular basis.

What Semi-pro waster said.

I was the absolute epitome of a lazy, selfish sod who did absolutely no one and had the drive for nothing.

I'm still not great, I see that, but believe me if I can do it, anyone can. The only advice that I can impart is "start now". Not tomorrow, later, 10 minutes, not when you've made a cup of coffee, start now.

I did that myself. I forced myself to sit at a desk and turn the pages of the book over. First few days my work levels were dire, I was reading bits and pieces, getting distracted etc. After a while though, once "you" realise you're going to sit at the desk anyway, you start to focus your attention on the book etc.

I've still got a long way to go myself. I'm not working as hard as I could, my fitness can be improved, I've got interests that I want to pursue etc, but it's all about stepping stones. Get to one thing before you go to another. :)

Gj when you hit the bottom it can be hard to get back up, I think we've all been there at least once....enjoy the remainder of uni and studying but it sounds like your doing alright.

Just remember your future will be finitely better then it was a couple of months ago regardless of what you walk away from uni with.
