looking to go standard air cooling instead of water coolong to save on cash at the mo, and just wondering, which scythe cooler is better?

the ninja or the mine?

or could you reccoment a better performance one?

price can be up to about 60 but only want to order from ocuk,

cool thanks stelly,

and do you think there will be a massive difference between say the scythe ninja and an arctic cooling antarctica water cooling kit with a twin 120mm rad?

Google is your friend :)

The mine comes out head and sholders above the ninja in all the reviews I've seen. Plus, it's lighter and easier to fit. Definitely get the mine.

Hmm I dunno? I'd say the Ninja is the better out the two. Looking at the in house tests it seems that the Ninja had lower temps whilst passive than the Mine running with the standard fan. Only when the Mine had the upgraded 2000rpm fan did it then get lower temps.

Ninja is better coz you can use any 12cm fan, quiet ones or noisey deltas.

Generally big fans = better cooling/noise.

Ninja for performance IMO.

Yes, it can apparantly. Also, you have to remember that this is 2000 rpm we're talking about - hardly ear-splitting is it?

for a 120mm fan it would be about 35db, far too loud imo :p

That would rather depend on which fan you were using. But hey.

AcoustiFan C-Series Ultra Quiet 120mm Fan - 3 pin (FG-008-AF)

2000 rpm - 34db

Zalman ZM-F3 120mm Silent Case Fan - 3 Pin (FG-002-ZA)

12v performance - 1800RPM, 34.0dBA,

ok then, 34db I was WAY out there ;)

/edit

120mm Sharkoon 2000 "Golf Ball" Quiet Case Fan

2000rpm - 36.1 dB

Thermaltake A2368 High Performance 120mm Fan
2000 RPM 78CFM 21dBA ;)

Oh you mean the thunderblade? I could link you to a review that includes a video of it sounding like a hairdryer if you wish :)

And have a quick google you will find numerous people complaining about their noise output being far higher than the specs suggest.
