Hello,

My folks have aol broadband (I know a lot of people don't like aol but my mum does so there! :p ) at the moment and connect through a bt voyager 100adsl modem. They want to have two computers able to connect to the internet at the same time. Is going wireless as easy as buying a router and putting a pci or a usb wireless card in both computers?

Also, would it be possible to plug the main computer directly into the router and have the other one use wireless? My family mistrust the new fangled wireless, and want to know they'll always be able to connect to the internet through something tangible :D

Last also, is there any compatability issues with Aol and different brands of routers?

Yes it is pretty much that easy, if you know ** user name and password you couldnt have to much trouble setting up a router. especially if you get the netgear ones that AOL pitch.

Yes you can plug one pc directly in the ethernet port.

If your worried about reliability i bought a linksys router for my mums cottage, its been fine. Runs without a problem

Now i am confused! for the adsl service? We have a bt phone and aol supply our broadband but i've no idea about the adsl service. Can someone please explain?

You need a username and password to connect, which isn't necessarily the username and password you use for AOL itself.

This has some instructions.
