Following the earlier announcement from Rockstar Games about the release date for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Grand Theft Auto IV, French website Jeux Expo is reporting that the PC version of the game will be launched in Europe in October 2008.

From gamershell, would be nice to see a PC launch that doesnt take years to port over.

Yeah the ports are very good, lookin forward to some more gta madness, hopefully we'll get some online mods brewed up soon after launch as well!

Good to hear it will be out this year on the PC, I always felt the game were better on the PC mainly due to the shooting controls.
 
I hope when it comes out on pc it will support gamepads properly. Never managed to get my 360 pad using the analogue sticks properly.

My GTA:SA worked perfectly with my PS2 controller usb adapter thingy! Got it exactly like the PS2 controls.

Can't remember if i downloaded a config to do it for me or not though. :)
 
Im sure GTA 1 was out for PC before PS1. Its the same with many games, the first is released on PC then others follow but are made for consoles first.

Call of duty, Need for Speed...

The game will feature online modes from launch :)

But yeah, I see what you're saying. Some extra modding to that would be very nice :)

Although no annoucements to actual online features have been made yet.

Great to hear we'll get some MP action straight out the box, should keep us goin until the community get something on the go. Really looking forward to this, been awhile since i done some driveby shootings, killed cops and beatup random people :D

I know what you mean! I completed SA in my first year at uni, im currently in my 4th! I can remember going down town in 6th form and getting VC, was the last copy in town! Cant remember the story behind GTA3...

Man, I feel so old!
 
yeah skeeter, I know what you mean, age creeps up on you fast! I can remember some of gta3 with 8ball;

"I know a place on the edge of the red light disctrict where we can lay low, but my hands are all messed up so you better drive brother!"

Absolute class, hooking up with Luigi and working for the italian mafia, picking up prostitutes for the police ball :p

Just love the style of humour on gta.

Its because the consoles are a lot better than they were and are able to handle the pc games really well. I personally am thinking of ditching pc gaming altogether as the console versions of games are better than my pc seems capable of sadly :(
