Well I have just taken delivery of a pair of NEC 20WGX2 Pro monitors and all I can say is... WOW!!! 
I mean, seriously, these are the most incredible screens I have seen connected to a PC. 
So this thread is simply to say thanks, not only to the people who have patiently answered my questions, but also to those who recommended these monitors in any thread... thank you.
I thought the Dell 2007WFP's were nice but I didn't expect something to blow them away like these have. And as for the HP LP2275w, it isn't even close. Only £40 dearer than the HP's too, bargain!!
So anyone thinking about a 20 inch screen, who wants that bit extra quality, I can most definitely recommend these.
It's a shame I can't mention the site I got them from (especially as OC don't sell these) because they were outstanding, and I think that good quality dealers should have their good service known to others.
