Having read some of the threads regarding faulty cards and RMA issues i had a thought.

Take my 1900XT for instance. Ill bet there are people out there that break these cards on purpose and then send them back to the manufacturer knowing that they have gone out of production. I guess the hope would be that ATI would send them the next best product like a 2XXX series card because you cant get the 1900 series anymore.

rekon this happens then? it would certainly be a cheaper way of upgrading!!

P.S NO IM NOT GOING TO ATTEMPT THIS. ITS JUST A CURIOUS THOUGHT.
