Look OK? Also, will I need any extra power/SATA cables than come supplied to finish the build?

I have the same case you mention in the OP. The included PSU has 3 sata and a few molex power connectors on it. So you are covered for power to the hdd's you mention.

I dont know what if any sata data cables are supplied with the mobo you mentioned though.

I assume your boot drive is a 40GB SSD?

In which case, fast boot etc, isnt exactly necessarily needed for a HTPC, nor would you likely notice any difference imo.

You could always boot of a usb stick, and get another TB hard drive for the cash saved?

So playing video? If so get an ION board.

^ he is streaming the media i believe so doesn't necessarily need the ION as no video decoding will be done of the file server itself.
