Stop restricting legit conversation. Ok so you won't allow club threads but stop being so overzealous and allow the occasional bit of chat about specific clubs.

It's healthy for the forum and mods who keep locking threads mid conversation isn't helping anyone.

If there are club threads, where will it end? The odd Watford fan will make a thread, a random Peterborough fan and so on...it will end up with the Man Utd thread being the biggest along with Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool and perhaps Man City.

It will make everything so messy and very bitchy. :o

There are ENTIRE forums dedicated to clubs, just post there instead. :)

who is the hardest premier league manager? i'd say jol or moyes.

jol, looks like a power house, i'm thinking he'd get you in a head lock and it'd be lights out

moyes, just anger, loses control, pure energy and biting

And thread derailed already...

Now would be the time for people to voice their views on club threads before it closes, not random comments.

I think the Dons need to accept that in a transfer thread, topics surrounding transfers are inevitably going to get discussed. You can't avoid it without killing the spirit of the forum.

Simple as that really.

Sadly they don't though, every single person could disagree with them but their word still goes.

And the word is instead of punishing individuals, punish everyone.

If there was a seperate thread then that would have been locked for being a United thread....

Taking a look back over the transfers thread the last 30-40 posts were probably about 90% talk regarding Man Utd - that wasn't so much about transfers but complaining about the rights and wrongs of Ferguson's tenure there and what to do with the team.

If Berbatov's contract is an especially interesting or contentious issue then start a thread on it but if it is simply a vehicle for a whinge about Sir Alex and then it becomes purely a club thread then you're right - it will be closed as the rule remains that there shouldn't be any generic club threads. Specific issues aren't a problem, do feel free to discuss them but an all encompassing thread isn't going to fly.

side issues do occur and if they become sigbificant can be deserving of a seperat thread rather than taking over something that is for everyone

I've just come on here and find it a total **** take that the summer transfer thread has been closed on the basis that it's not a club thread almost like there is a club thread for the discussion that was taking place and the punishable offence was discussing it in the wrong place.

So let me get this right then;

We're not allowed club threads but at the same time we're not allowed to discuss what may merit being in a club thread either. :o
