Hi all,

Well a few weeks back i bought a wireless N adapter WN111(
I do have onboard wireless too)
its served me well bit was fail at getting to the end of the house.

I now have a proper Cat5 connection now i was thinking is there anyway to use the wn111 to act as a wireless access point so that it can just feed off the wired connection so i can connect my mobile phone to wifi ?

i have the netgear software installed as i can connect to access pont and it has computer to computer (ad Hoc)

or is there any other way i can do this? :) without buying anything.

the netgear WN111 isnt supported so enabled my internal wifi Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN and it doesnt pick it up either :(

and yes i do have win7

Intel 5100/5300, WiFi Link 1000 BGN, driver version 13.0.0.107 < from the connectify

i get a No AP mode supported
but can run ad-hoc wep

ill give it a go , thanks for the help. only other alternative is to get a compatable AP that works with connectify

Well ive been pottering about and updated my wireless (internal) card drivers and i can load connectify fine now where before it wasn't seeing anything or working. But my phone will not obtaine an ip its doing my head in

any ideas?

I just had a go with that Connectify thing. Ingenious piece of software. My iPhone also wouldn't obtain an IP with the release 2.0 version, but I tried the beta 2.1 version and that sorted it.

i have version 2.0.1.15550 from the site is that not the beta?

Nevermind just found it! didnt notice the rss before

thanks shall try the 2.1

^^ Edit

So glad you noticed the 2.1 .. been racking my brains over this program..lol

Working! :D YAY now can use phone - ps3 \o/
