So, like i said, I flunked my 2nd driving test last week and afterwards we scheduled a lesson today to go over some basics and then book another test. Got a phone call this morning from her telling me things are going backwards and I should find another instructor. I was still half asleep when she called so I just aid "ok.....and ok......"

Now I am awake, that can't be the reason, it's just silly (or is it?) I am thinking its because she is still charging me the old rates (£19.50 ph) where her new students are getting charged (£20 ph). So she is losing money with me.

So now I have to find someone else and spent more money to get used to another car !

It doesn't take long to get used to a new car, her dumping you might also be a blessing in disguise as your next instructor might be able to get you through your next test ok, it's her loss, not yours.

Doubt she dumped you over 50p a lesson. Maybe driving isnt your thing and she feels there is nothing more she can offer you?

Yeah like was said above it might be her more than you if she's not been teaching you very well. Doubt it's over 50p per hour, most likely is she has targets to meet and if you fail loads of times it looks bad on her record. Face it, she's just crap at her job.

I agree, there is no way the 50p has anything to do with it

Sorry but lol :p

Reminds me of the way my first girlfriend dumped me all those years ago >.>

Waking me up on a Sat morning and telling me we had nothing in common and we should call it a day and hanging up before it really had registered lol :P

Bet u just came off the phone and then thought 'WTF?'

I don't think 50p was the cause (honestly) but that's all I can think of, her tone of voice was strange. Something obviously happened since last thursday. I don't think she has any quota as she is an independant, I would've thought money is money!

Maybe she realised shes in love with you and cant deal with seeing you for driving lessons anymore or she'll be tempted to grope you whilst you drive and youll both crash and die?

or maybe not?

LOL, that made me gringe......and lol. Was kinda gutted when i posted this now i am laughing. She's no looker and shes married with kids !

i THINK they need to keep track of the amount of lessons and tests you do, i think the amount of lessons you've done and failures may reflect back on her to make her look bad, as she may think you might fail again :p

My instructor said something about keeping the info for something.

Did you do anything to scare the crap out of her?

I agree with Fox on this one, maybe you're not quite a natural and she feels she can't really help you any more. A change of instructor is probably a good move.

I had a crap instructor, he moved house without telling me, I got a new instructor, I passed.

I wouldn't worry. Just go get a decent independant instructor and you'll do fine!

No, never dangerously, and can't remember the last time she had to use the dual contol. She never grab the steering wheel off my hands ever so my positioning on the road has been fine.
