I'm surprised the forum doesn't have a swear word filter... Some abbreviations are starred so surely swear words should/could be too?

Anyway OP, if you see this, ask for it in writing and speak to your agency.

There is a filter system in place but they don't include swearies as a means of catching people out.

Pretty harsh thread, he didn't come across too badly and was unfairly dismissed from his job.

With the popularity of this Forum, would it be too much to ask to implement a simple device that blocks swear words? Jesus Christ, even the crappy JBit forums have them.

Some words cannot be starred though. E.g. S****horpe.

Oh wait.. probably for the best ;)

You can do it with a bit of ingenuity. Assuming that the bit you starred out was abcd:

"abcd
abcd (should be space abcd)
,abcd
:abcd
abcd.
abcd,

etc.

It's not perfect but will catch the vast majority of casual uses. I'd be certain there's lists with these already figured out.

A warning would have sufficed!

I agree 100%. From reading his post you get the sense that he is a tad miffed and just wanted to tell his story, letting in an illegal word by mistake. I think a warning would have been perfectly adequate and I'm sure he would have apologised as I seriously don't think he meant to do it.

Sometimes you just get the impression this forum is run by wannabe Hitlers I have to say.

Bah,;,.....it'll be deleted and/or closed shortly anyway.
