Lucky guy. Id love to play on a specy again. Sure i could do the emulator route or remakes but the rubber keys on the zx 48k oh my... Tho last time i played on one my fingers were a lot smaller at the age of 5-8 i would probably struggle to type on it these days if i had one now. Ah memories.
Of course a Spectrum is worth keeping - especially one with rubber keys! One was my first step on my road to geekdom, and it will always have a special place in my heart, among other places...
I saw a C64 and a Vic20 for sale at a 2nd hand junk/swap meet thing. Spent 5 mins checking it out. GF thought i was nuts... only 1 tape deck and the power cable was mangled. Guy wanted 50Kr for it 5 quid.. lol was so tempted, just to take it apart if it didnt work.
If i was into building stuff i would SOOOOO buy a broke speccy 48k and use a Raspberry Pi thing in it and make it into a mini computer thing somehow. I mean lol that pi thing in a actual speccy then run a emulator on it and have all the games hehe. Bliss and also no tape loading from actual tapes double bliss.
I have managed to source a tape player and a old joystick for a whole £2. This weekend is going to be awesome. Might wait till I can access the MM before I sell it.
