The recent RA thread just made me think that we don't have a thread on here talking about music (probably need one for movies too).
After all, (hopefully) we don't buy kit just to think it looks nice, prove how big a willy we have or listen to "audiophool" recordings of utter dirge.

So, trying to kick start this, thought I'd mention having bought Rainbow Rising (again), deluxe edition.
For those who don't know, Rainbow were the follow on band for Richie Blackmore, guitarist from Deep Purple and arguably one of the best guitarists of all time. Other well known band members were Cozy Powell and Ronnie James Dio (unfortunately both now deceased).
Rising was their 2nd album and includes some real classic rock tracks, particularly well known being Stargazer, which is a long, rolling track with some brilliant music in it.

I first had this album when it was first released on vinyl (1976), and pretty much played the album to death. Re-bought on CD in 1988, and then again recently. The deluxe album includes three different "cuts" of the album. The first 2 are remixes and don't really change the game much, though I like their sound. The third is titled "rough cut" and as suggested is a little less polished. For all that, I love it, as it comes across as a big more natural and less processed. Seriously, it's brilliant.

If you like rock and don't have this album already, go buy it.
