Just been out to look at some cars.

I looked at -

Vauxhall Corsa SXI+ (interior was nice looking and the car wasn't bad looking in general but a bit basic) Free insurance on this :)

Toyota Yaris (Felt very basic but had a nice VVTI engine)

Seat Ibiza (Mean looking thing, interior wasn't bad but a bit plastic looking)

The winner i think was this -

Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Multijet Dynamic 16v 90bhp (looked gorgeous, it was masturbation material looks lol, interior was fantastic and they are very fast for what they are)

Anyone else got comments on these cars?

The Fiat Grande Punto is £10515 but could probably get it for about £10k.

This is my first car by the way.

I've found insurance on the Fiat for £1850 fully comp on Bell.

Anyone know of any cheaper car insurance providers i should look at too?

Thanks,

Andy

Bell are good for young drivers. I'd try adding your mother as a second driver to lower the quote

The Grande Punto is a good car - the best out of the four you've looked at IMO.

I'd consider buying used though - £4k would buy you a rather nice 1.6 16V Focus/Astra/etc that's a few years old and should be about the same amount to insure

That was with my mother as a named driver :D lol

Without was over £2k.

I was going to go for the Punto as i could get a nice finance deal and see how it goes for that year etc...

You're spending £10k on a car and you're worried about saving a couple of hundred on insurance? I'd be far more worried about the potential depreciation on all of those cars :)

They have good buy back thing on too, when you talk of depreciation. VFE i think it's called?

Ok been researching with my bro who is a car salesman and i'm going to go for the 1.9 multijet diesel 130bhp which if i shop around i can find for £10k.

Insurance i can get for £1400 fully comp :D

Seems a good deal.

I could buy on finance but i have the dosh to buy outright so i probably will.

If he is earning £24,000 a year doing PART TIME hours at a phone shop, I will eat my hat, with ketchup, and put photos in this thread.

Clearly you dont read GD threads then as i have been full time for a couple of months now.

Where i got my money from is no business of yours either :)

And yes i earn around £20k a year which includes comission of an average week, sometimes i excell that and get a lot more :)
