I have a pair of crucial anns, timings are at 4-4-4-4 and cpu is at 2.8Ghz.

Ram is overclocked at stock volts (1.8v).

Any reason why it's doing this?

Is it an Asus board? I've got an Asus commando and it does the same thing to my crucial anniversary ram - I've read that it's to help the PC boot with certain types of high end ram since the start voltage is only 1.8-1.9 volts it reads the SPD then reports it as one speed lower.

It doesnt matter what the BIOS screen says, It'll run it at the speed its set at anyway so more of a positive really.

edit: looks like they fixed it in a bios update too, now I'm running 0803 it says its PC2-5300 like it should...
