ok buying graphics card and new PSU as my current rig which is brand new needs to be pimped a little

rig is:
1.5 gig ram (was 512)
Power supply - PSU Fortron 350 Watt ATX/BTX :(
Mainboard MB - Intel D945GCZLK,GbLan,w1394
Processor CPU - INTEL Celeron D351 3,20GHZ
Graphic card - VGA onboard :(
HDD SATA II 80GB
Windows XP Prof OEM UK SP2
onboard graphics

You can probably see why i'm upgrading but I had no choice in the pc

so i'm upgrading graphics card to

Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI @£131

and therefore the PSU will need upgrading as well

Akasa Ultra Quiet 460W Paxpower Active PFC ATX2.0 PSU - Black Nickel @52

any objections?

no problem , but your cpu will probably be a bottle neck

Instead of getting a x1950Pro, you could split the money for that between a Pentium D 805 (which your motherboard will support) and something like a 7300 GT DDR3. You'll spend the same money and get more speed.

:( don't like all these complicated options.

don't really know what to go for now.

how bad would the bottle necking be? I play games on 1280 x 1024 so maybe I could get a cheaper graphics card which the cpu would support and not bottleneck.

I have a spare Intel Pentium 4 630 3.0 GHz , 2MB Cache processer is this better than my current INTEL Celeron D351 3,20GHZ????? If so could I swap them and the 630 processer wouldn't bottleneck with x1950 pro??

Is all the RAM at the same speed? If the original memory was genric, you might be better of with just the corsair memory in.

will test about when i've got upgrade parts.

to go back to original question will the pentium 4 630 bottleneck with the x1950 installed???

Thats abetter CPU than the Celeron mate, I'd stick the P4 in and take the celeron out :)

brilliant will order the x1950 pro and the Akasa Ultra Quiet 460W Paxpower Active PFC ATX2.0 PSU (unless there's better PSU for bit more money)

will swap CPU so i've got 1.5 gig, pentium 4 630 3.0 GHZ, X1950 Pro and new PSU

should be good set up :)
