Hi guys, I've been looking for a bike to use once I go to uni in september as I wont be able to take my car on campus, was looking at a bike on ebay from a dealer and it was due to end this afternoon so I took a punt on it just as a kind of token bid and ended up winning.... wasnt quite what I had planned!

The bike is a 2001 kawasaki ZX6R (J1 model) fsh with 6 service stamps and 4,061 miles on the clock and original and apparently 'good' condition.

Im picking it up tomorrow and paid £2000, which is where you guys come in, fair deal or more than it was worth?

thanks again! bit panicky about it tbh as I totally hadnt expected to win :/

4000 miles really ? the ignition tells a different story by looking at the picture but ha ho check out the history before parting with your cash.

Not a great photo so I could be wrong.

as said they flake of extremely easily! back in 2010 i had a 750 cc kawasaki and that had 8,000 confirmed miles but the barrell look like someone had near on taken sandpaper to it

I will do cheers for the advice, already insured on it etc just going to pick it up tomorrow afternoon, unless the tyres have been done very recently the first thing I will be doing when i get back is changing them, I learnt at the start of my motorbiking life that old tyres are a very bad idea indeed!

Surely if its a dealer sale I still have some comeback or because he states its a 'trade' sale does the exempt them from the normal rules? The guys seemed nice enough on the phone, not that that means anything!

just a quick update! went and picked it up yesterday and it was better than i expected! rode beautifully, absolutley immaculate condition. also has an acumen alarm worth £280 fitted and two 200 mile old decent tyres fitted in october when it had its last service!

also hpi and mots confirm mileage :)

Will do pics tomorrow I promise! I didnt get back till after dark last night and put the cover on and its been wet all day!

as promised ! not great due to where it is stored atm but you get the idea

tyrea so new still has the bobbles in the middle

It's always puzzled me why they make the exhaust SO big on some bikes. The Bandit suffers from this problem. I don't know, not a huge fan.

Like the colour and style of the rest of the bike though! :)

I totally agree, I have had aftermarket exhausts on all 4 of my previous bikes and this will be getting one soon as well!
