Just bought myself a D50, and got a Tamron 70-300 AF (Tele-Macro) half price with it. Before all you Lens fanboys start having a go at me, this is my first DSLR, and I'm going to be doing a lot of playing about with it. It's my version of an ideal beginners kit....
I had a go with the Pentax *iST DL2, and whilst it was lighter and smaller, it felt cheaper (as well as just being cheaper!). The battery life, feel, and general all-round good reviews won it over for the Nikon. I couldn't justify the extra cost for the 350D, although, as this hobby grows on you, I hear it affects your wallet
Add in a couple of skylight filters, and a camera bag, not much left off the sharp end of 6 large ones. Oh well. Easy come, easy go.
I'm off to Skye this weekend, I hope the weather holds for some great pics....
