.....there is a small scratch on one of the disks. When installing it says 'File HALLB.SET is corrupt' and stops the installation. The game is Titanic: Adventure out of Time. Is there any way that I can repair this file? I have tried Brasso on the CD but no joy! I have looked on the CD and the file is only 8mb. Any idea how I can fix it or is the game broke?

copy the cd onto your hard drive then search p2p sites for the file your missing 6/10 times you can find it and it works, did this with ut2004 and it works fine, then replace the file and burn a new cd of it and yes it is legal because you have the original copy of the disk.

job sorted

One of the big games mags had a free sample of Wipeout Ultra CD/DVD Scratch repair stuff on its cover recently.

It's a kinda paste type stuff that you rub into the scratch on the disk and it removes/repairs it.

I had an old copy of World Superbike 2001 that wouldn't read in my DVD-R drive, but this stuff sorted it out no bother at all.

I believe its available on the high street as well as online/mail order, but I cant post any links as most of the places that sell it appear to be competitors.

Do a search on Google and it should throw up info.

Not saying it will defo work, but its worth a go I 'spose.

I've got round this problem before with "Clone CD", I created an image of the game in question & installed it from that.

Tbh, your wasting your time, I have that game, its pants imo (I'm well into all things Titanic! :o ).

E-Mail me via trust, I'll post you my disk with pleasure.
