Please see picture below. red belongs to me, blue to my neighbour.

So the outbuildings to the side of our house are shared. I have a small cupboard at the front and a large space at the back and vice versa.

Now I would like to build a small garage/shed big enough for my bike next to my house - see green square.

Would this be ok or likely to cause problems/not allowed. We have not moved in so cannot speak to my new neighbour about it.

If it's on your property it's your business, however if you feel it will affect your neighbour you should probably either have a word with them about it (check to see if they think you should contact council), or contact your council.

It's hard to tell from the images at how big you think it will be and what it will be made out of :p

(I know you can't speak to your neighbor yet, but maybe go and knock on their door?)

Depends on the impact on your neighbours, i.e. how tall it is and so forth, but if it's not taller than say 6.5 feet it shouldn't be a problem. I assume you know where your new house is though, so if you've purchased the house why can't you just go and speak to them now?
