I must admit I am a big 360 fan at heart, but with the way Blu Ray is going I just thought it'd be a good choice. Plus I managed to get a good price for my 2nd 360 so got it with Uncharted & The Club. Traded The Club in straight away and got Ninja Gaiden Sigma (loved the original on the Xbox). Also bought an HDMI cable, Blu Ray Remote and Casino Royale.

First thoughts. Don't like the pad! It's not the layout, which I know a lot of people have a problem with, it's the weight of it..... it's too light (roll on dualshock 3). PS3 itself it a lovely piece of kit, really stands out... in a subtle way of course.
Just doing system update now so can't comment on the games, but from what I've seen of Uncharted I'm looking forward to playing this.

*heads over to Jersey based retailer for more Blu Ray films*

:D

I think there will be more and more of these threads, for the very reasons you have stated buying one. Hell I predict in the next 12 months there will be more of them than the my xbox360 died threads ;)

What do you think of Ninja Gaiden? (thats if you've played it)

Thinking about grabbing that myself.

Not played it yet sorry. I've read it's pretty much the same as Xbox original, just looks better. This is good though as I loved the Xbox version!

I'll let you know soon as I've played it :)

Yeh I agree. I've actually noticed them more frequently recently also.
I've mainly got it for the Blu Ray player, but there are quite a few titles, on the way, which are PS3 exclusive that I'm looking forward to. MGS4 being one of them.

If you want one sheerly for showing off what blu ray can do then Night at the Museum, Blood Diamond and Ratatoille are probably the best Ive seen so far.

300.
Starship troopers (which even on DVD is outstanding)
And BladeRunner which even though it is a steaming pile of crap, is a brilliant picture.

Yeh 300. I downloaded that on Live a few weeks back. Did look rather good! Might be one to pick up with it being Blu Ray also.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again.

Planet Earth Bluray is the best thing on Bluray. It's awesome, Some scenes are low res, But most the scenes are spectacular.

That's if you're sad enough to sit and watch it. I was but then I love that sort of thing :p

Thinking about renting this, looks very nice.

Cheapest way to watch blu-ray I have found is to join a rental scheme where vua the post £14.50 a month and I get 3 a week in practice. So thats 12 blu-rays a month for £14.50 yay!!
