Hi All.

So just bought myself a nice shiny Samsung 55 KS7000 TV but am trying to work out best way to connect it all up.. Here is my problem.

Current set-up is a bit limiting so let me try and explain.

Devices --> AVR --> Hdmi over ethernet --> TV

Problem i have is the HDMI over ethernet is not good enough for 4k so I am going to have the carpet up and swap this out for long hdmi cable (approx 7.5m). My Amp also does not pass through 4k and is limited to 1080p.

So my choices are

Don't be so tight and stump up for a new AVR that does 4k and keep old speakers

or ditch and AVR all together and get a sound bar

Problem with option 2 is that the TV and Equipment are on other side of the room from each other so would have to set-up something like this

Devices --> HDMI switch thats does 4k --> long hdmi cable --> Soundbar that pass 4k --> TV

Not to worried about loosing surround sound amp as I have a converted garage with a cinema set-up and dolby atmos so this is just for lounge viewing.

what would you do?

Also looking at UHD bluray player.. worth getting a stand alone or maybe something like a Xbox one S which i believe is getting an update next week for bit streaming blu ray
