Just bought a US NTSC premium system with gears of war for £170. Good price for an ntsc system or should I have gone for a pal version? Doesn't seem to be too many downsides apart from having to import games (but they are cheaper!).

If/when it breaks how are you going to get the warrenty sorted? Do you have to ship it back to America or don't you know?

I am good with a soldering iron so will try fix it myself. Failing that I have friends in the states that I can send it to but yes it would be a hassle

Yeh I'd just send it back if it dies. Don't be tampering with it before you send it back or warranty is void.

Good deal there. Apart from warranty issues, you'll need a hefty 300w+ stepdown or a UK power supply. Live is the same worldwide. You'll have no problems with purchasing points or playing online with PAL gamers. I'm getting along fine on a Japanese system. Imports can be cheaper but you can pick up region free releases of PAL games too which is nice if you spot a bargain in the shops.

Prey nothing goes wrong, I dont know anyone yet that has had a 360 for more than a year without it failing. I have just bought a new one ( sold my old one, not getting used) Im hoping they have improved a few things.

You may be able to get cheap games, but that wont help you if you dont have a rig to play them on, anyway, all the best with it and enjoy!!!

Launch day machine still going strong here.

These people who have managed to get through 4 or more machines, makes me wonder what they are doing with them.

Being good won't with a soldering iron won't really get you far to be honest. The fault maybe on the micro scale, in which case you're fooked.
