Firstly, I paid £155 delivered for it - good price? Secondly, I would like to know what software works well with it and what recommendations any of you would have of stuff I should get before it arrives tomorrow! Stuff like video converter, etc...

I find the software you get with it's good enough.
At the installation untick everything but Creative Zen (unless you want the other system invading stuff like Mediasource).
You'll end up with the just the Zen driver and Media Toolbox, which can convert and transfer your pictures, music and videos.
