Guys, Decided to bite the bullet (seems worse when clicking the buy button, but recieving the hardware makes it all worthwhile lol)

Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz (G0 or B3 dunno yet)
ABIT IP35, P35, Socket-775, ATX, Silent Otes, GbLAN, DDR2, PCI-Ex16
Corsair XMS2 PC-6400C4 2048Mb (2x 1gb mods)
OCZ StealthXStream 600W ATX EPS Psu

Anyone know of any issues with the compatibility of any of the above items?

^^

Getting coupled with an BFG 8800GTS 640mb
200gb seagate sata 7200.10 sata 2 hdd

yeah ive heard that, but it fits my budget, and noise isnt really an issue with me ;) i usually have music etc on up full anyway

It will run cooler, but unless you are overclocking it won't make a huge difference. But for a few quid, it's worth it isn't it ?

The Abit IP35, combined with a Q6600 does seem to have a powerup glitch where it powers up, down and then back up again. Im guessing it is defaulting to a 1333 strap, and on detecting the Q6600 changing down to the 1066strap and power cycling.

My friends PC does this, and I've read a dozen reports of the same issue with the IP35, combined with Q6600's.

That said, if you ignore it, and let it boot up, its perfectly stable its just a bit annoying when you first powerup.

Without wishing to in any way offend I’m surprised you seek advice after ordering rather than before. It’s a little bit like tempting fate.

If you get positive feedback there is arguably little point in posting.

If you get negative feedback you may perhaps fee less than happy and either ignore or live with the adverse comments.
If you decide to cancel part of the order and re-order alternatives you might as well have sought advice prior to ordering.

Just a thought and I genuinely wish you well with your purchases and hope it goes well.

Thats odd, my E2140 on a gigabyte DS3R board does the exact same thing, never really bothered me much but it just seems as odd.

Mines running on a 1500 fsb though so maybe its trying to boot at 1333 first ?

Oh and to avoid this being a thread hijack, everything looks compatible.

Looks good.

Apparently Corsair RAM is rather expensive for what it is these days. Maybe some Crucial Ballistix/Geil RAM :)
