Ill be honest im a bit frustrated.

Is there any HOTAS joystick that you can just plug in and not have to spend hours reassigning?

Im using a Saitek av8r, and although its cheap, every other game seems to just recognise it and i dont have to do anything. The Av8r was originally bought for Xbox anyway, so if I were to replace it with something, is there an item i can buy, plug in and just use with FSX?

It is a flight SIM, not game, you need to configure your stick. Most users will have different profiles and calibrations for individual aircraft. I've never played a sim with a plug and play joystick since the days of Novalogic F22 Lighting 3 which is far far from a sim.

Check the FSX boards/threads and I'm sure you will find people willing to share stick profiles with you as long as they have the same stick/hotas

I've used a logitech extreme 3d pro and a thrustmaster hotas x with fsx.

With both the basic commands were assigned off the bat, that is - flaps, landing gear, camera view and trim. These commands worked with both joysticks without remapping any controls, totally plug and play.

If you really want a new joystick I can recommend you the hotas x, I only paid £30 for it so its remarkable value.

I see what i need to do now, however i cannot setup the throttle to work, it just doesnt work. I have set it up in the axis menu, but it will only move the in game throttle a tiny bit. Is there any way to customise this?
