and wanted to get a PS3, so I can finaly watch films again on a nice TV.
been watching tv on my Dell 24inch monitor on my pc for ages.

play few games, and watch Blue Ray.

got a 60gig UK version for £250? good?
buy it now with A full working Playstation 3 60GB Console with all it's accessories + two games: Formula 1 and Ridge Racer 7

I asked when he listed the item...
he told me 15mins before I bought it lol!

any recommendations or advice on what to get?

I just pre-ordered the GTA 4 limited edition,
and just bought Assassins creed and Fight night 3.

£250 for the 60Gb is an amazing price. Make sure you definitely get it ok, because that price is rediculously low for the 60Gb model.

Only had the PS3 a few weeks myself, but i love the Motorstorm demo and may get it second hand or something (bought the PS3 mainly for blu-ray, so dont want to spend much on games).

I got the GT5: Prologue demo too and its decent, not much of a fan of driving games, but definitely worth the purchase if you like that sort of thing.

COD4, Assassins Creed, UT3, Warhawk, Burnout are all very good games too.

whats PSN games?

I'd like to get Tekken. allways been a fan.
I need to get burnout also :)

is Gran Turismo 5 Prologue out yet?

PSN (Playstation Network) games are like the Arcade games of the 360's marketplace. But usually graphically better in cases like Tekken.

Prologue isn't out yet over here (i dont think, dont quote me on that :D), but people have imported it.

its the real thing?

You got the 60GB for a bargain price there mate, anyway might help if you give us an idea on what games you like to play, but generally heres a couple of games I think its worth getting.

Resistance Fall of man, Good SP game (gets much better as you go on) and great 40 player online with dedicated servers.

Call of Duty 4 (unless you played it before) Excellent if a bit short single player game, multiplayer is one of the best ive played even though it may feel unfair at first.

Uncharted, Amazingy looking game which plays like an Indy movie great characters and great fun.

Ratchet and Clank FTOD, If you have played ratchet games before you know exactly what you getting, nothing new or ground breaking but still a great fun game and looks lovely.

PSN games
Super stardust HD, remake of the classic twin stick Amiga shooter (demo on PSN)

Pixel Junk Monsters, good take on the Desktop Tower Defense game with a few twists (demo on PSN)

Tekken 5 online, Its Tekken 5 but online and cheap!

Warhawk (or on BD), third person multiplayer only game with 32 player online battles on foot in the air or in vehicles. Great balancing of all weapons and a not to steep learning curve.

Theres plenty of games worth playing, im sure more people will be along with their views.

HDMI leads are all much of a muchness due to it being a digital medium and thus very little signal loss compared to analogue, just buy one that's the right length for as cheap as possible.

Congratulations on getting it soo cheap - one word of warning, I have heard of Ebayers selling 40gb PS3s marked as 60gb - they simply put a larger hard drive in there, although your guy sounds kosher, a lot of people are cashing in on the demand for a 60gb version.

I got mine from Gamestation 2nd hand (although the PS3 itself is actually in mint unopened condition) with 2 games for £325 delivered - well worth a look if you're still looking for one. It came bundled with Motorstorm and Resistance: Fall of Man.

I've since traded in Motorstorm as I found it way too hard and a bit boring. If you want a decent racer, I recommend Burnout Paradise, it has an amazing online mode and decent single player action. Resistance is pretty good for a console FPS, I've also added Call of Duty 3 (I have 4 on PC) and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune to my list. I'd also recommend Devil May Cry 4, got it on 360 and its lovely!

Welcome aboard, you will find a well informed and battle hardened ps3 community here on ocuk.

All the games that have been listed and recommended by other posters are accurate and worth a look ( and a few definitely worth buying ).

Good luck with the purchase and enjoy.

Thanks.
I wanted one for ages.

but when it first come out...
price tag was rather expensive! 500 quid!!!

now been awhile, more games out.
and its getting how it should have been on release. I thought id get one.

specially at the price I paid for it :)

the hdmi lead i use cost abt 12 quid(yup its a cheapy)....picture quality looks great.
i cant really see what a more expensive lead would do tbh as i cant see any faults in the picture.

i cant say where i got it from as its as competitor but i would just buy a cheap one as its only a digital signal being carried and aslong as it does the job then its money saved.
