Well last night I took the plunge and bought a MacBook Pro, been doing a lot of reading up on them over the past couple of weeks and decided to buy a refurbished model direct from the Apple store online. Saved quite a bit on it too so quite pleased, looking forward to arriving next week when I am on holiday, so plenty of time to get used to it.

Spec:

Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

15.4-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen display
4GB memory
320GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
Built-in iSight camera
Illuminated keyboard

Got it for £1079 :D

congrats on taking the plunge. I bought my first mac (a mbp 2.66/4gig) a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it to bits. It's just so intuitive and FUN to use. Honestly, barring me getting back into gaming (which i haven't been into for a while now) i don't think i'll ever go back to windows or pcs!

The track pad is simply amazing by the way.

I don't think so, the model I had was a saving of 36% of the RRP value and I didnt see any option to do HE discounts.

The Macbook is in transit just now, problem is I am at work so I am not going to be in :(

Hopefully will be able to collect it tomorrow from the local UPS depot!

With the refurb store (looking and a 20" iMac) is it a case of checking ever day until you see what your after and grab it?

Any manor of specification can appear at any time?

Didn't want to start a thread to ask this really!

That's quite a saving, HE discount is only 14%, so you are still 20% better off !

I thought the model you got is the base model which is around £1100 with the HE discount.

OP, is it the one with the built in battery?
