I have just bought myself some new kit from OcUk - and I was wondering what kind of advice you guys had for me to start off overclocking it :)

4400x2 AMD64
7800GT 512MB GW Bliss GLH x2 (for SLi)
Abit AN8-32X
Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3500LL Pro TwinX
ThermalRight SI-120

I haven't really o/c'd since waaaay back in the early 90's when I first overclocked my AMD DX4/100 to 150 (stable!) ;) But I'm not a complete numpty

I was just wondering what ideas you guys had that were 'safe' to start off with on this combination of kit.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

The CPU should be hitting somewhere around 240-250MHz HTT with only minor (if any at all) voltage increase, you may have to increase the nforce4 (Chipset) voltage.

The graphics cards (I also run two of the 512MB BLISS 7800GT's) should hit around 500~ MHz core and 1.43GHz memory (or at least mine do).

Excellent! just the kind of info I was after :) many thanks

I'll start off with about 75% of the increases you mentioned and ramp 'em up slowly from there - then I'll see what I can achieve from there on in without compromising stability
