Just bought the new Fire 10 tablet with Alexa

....and it's brilliant.

I wanted a tablet just for amazon video, netflix and sky q recordings so spending £400+ on an ipad seemed a bit much. There didn't seem to be many large capacity android tablets on the market, unless they took sd cards. Noticed the new amazon 10 tablet for £149 so took a punt. It's bloody brilliant. Picked up a moko case for £15 and a sandisk ultra 64gb card for £18....job done.

Luckily the skyq app works great on it (have to get the .apk and install it as it's not on the amazon store).

The tablet itself is nice and nippy....was expecting it to be really sluggish but it's not at all.

Really impressed with it.

oh, and Amazon chat can remove the adverts for free if you ask them.

Wholeheartedly agree.

For my birthday I received an Amazon 10 tablet last year. Its a fantastic bit of kit. I wanted a simple tablet purely for media consumption, where you can drag and drop files from your PC without navigating iTunes quirks.

Watching some of the Amazon exclusives, the picture quality (given the price) is outstanding and the 'widescreen' display really shines. Truth be told, I cant see myself investing in a high end tablet again. Alexa is a bit hit and miss (I usually give up) although to be fair, still a bit of a novelty for me, quite nifty of you want to change track on Spotify for example.

My only bug bear, if you upload your own series from a box set, its very hard to discern the order to watch from a thumbnail. For example. If you choose to watch episode 3 from a series of 10 episodes, there is no information other than the thumbnail image? If the thumbnail images are all the same or just random pictures - Its a case of guessing! Other than this minor inconvenience, no complaints.

I have not bothered to side load Google, the temptation is there, however, as I only use for video and a bit of audio, so not a priority.
