I just broke my bf2 cd, my lamp fell on it(real story!) and its broken in two pieces thing is now i cant play anymore has the game requires you to have the legit cd in the drive to play. Dont tell me i have to buy another one ? :(

Get someone you know who has it to make a cd image for you and then use your key. Shouldnt be a problem doing that.

EA offer a broken / scratched CD policy i think, costs a fiver or 7 quid or something to get a replacement?

DO NOT BUY A REPLACEMENT COPY FROM EA, its probably cheaper buying the game second hand with a new key than it is to do that.
Do not install a cd-crack, these are hassles when it comes to patching etc.
You download a mini-image which you leave mounted in a virtual drive when you want to play, if you need to install just look for a dodgey pirate copy of it, and then download the mini-image after its all patched up.
ALL mini-images allow multiplayer with legit installation+key.

Im suprised that theres people suggesting you should part with more money etc and not as many suggesting mini-images, I rarely play games nowadays but when I do i never put the cd in, because the games with checks that I have all have mini-images mounted as soon as windows logs in to avoid cd spin ups and changes.

NO-cd cracks are known to get you banned for a couple of weeks from online play! or at least they were when they first came out.

with these mini images :/ i use game jackal, i assume its more or less the same!

^^ another point to note is that nocd cracks are .exes, so its much safer to deal with mini-images, and you patch like every other person when that time of the month(or decade) comes round with EA.
I use daemon tools to sort all my cd images/mini images etc, purely because its the program iv used for the best part of 10years.

If you only need the DVD to play the game online, then you can use the add-on pack DVD (Special Forces) to play BF2. If you haven't got Special Forces, then you should probably get it, should be pretty cheap.

I have 2 PCs with BF2 on and only 1 Special Forces. 1 of the BF2 DVDs cracked, so one PC runs the game from the Special Forces Disc. However, it's alright for me to reinstall as I've still got the other BF2.

But for you to install BF2, you'll definitely need to grab a copy of BF2 from someone anyhow.

even if it was illegal who cares, you'v bought the license for the game :) they have your money, above about special forces is a good point, that disc can be used instead,it also gives you 2x as many unlocks.
