Alright, just finished building my computer..press the button everything fires up including thew gfx card, then it switches off after about 5 seconds, but then 2 seconds later it all whirls up again seems working fine but nothing shows on the screen.

any advice as to whats wrong with it guys?

Same thing happened to me only i got beeps. Is the speaker in correct?

Turned out to be memory fault.

The first issue, i.e. everything starting, then stopping, then starting again is a known double booting issue with your motherboard. I have the same problem. You can rectify this issue with a BIOS flash. (See: http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?t=445141)

You could do with connecting that speaker up to determine if there any beeps. I presume the monitor is connected properly? :D

ok heres the latest, i changed the ram and it still did the same, so i put my new ram back in and put in my old graphics card, and everything works!

So i assume my new 8800gt is faulty? just seems a bit odd?

is there anything else i can try? in the bios there is something about pci-e 1.0 and 1.0a, which one should it be?

cheers

I would try the graphics card in other system just to make sure its faulty. Then you can rule it out and RMA.

You need the speaker cable in.

You know where the HD LED cables, Power on & reset cable are on the mobo? Well there all down at the bottom corner, coming from your case, there is a speaker cable one.

Chances are you've missed a pin, easily done, if so the speaker wont go off giving you the beeps.

Consult you manual to find the right way it should go, fiddly, but easily rectified.

right this is weird

i just put one of those little dvi to vga converts in the gfx card..and now it all works by vga..:S

any ideas as to why guys?

cheers

Some cards are sensitive as to which DVI you use? Are you using number one, and are you testing on the same one?
