Vista X64

Tested system at stock to get it stable

Prime 95 , 20 minutes small ftts, OK
Prime 95 Blend 20 minutes OK

No issues there, once i get into vista im completely stable.

here is where the problem is

UNRECOVERBLE HARDWARE ERROR BSOD :/

this error pops up when im booting vista
it also pops up when im trying to reinstall windows vista even before i can get to the format hdd section of the instal.

I have tested all i can think of..

Graphics card First and Second slots
2 diffrent hdds
no dvd drives installed or atapi drives installed
no usb harware apart from mouse/keyboard.

same error.

now here is the funny thing the error always happens no matter what when im trying to reinstall os.

os during bootup will bsod but after 2 or 3 reboots it will let me into vista and then im completely utterly stable.

please help me becuse im at a loss and so is the nice guy that i bought the motherboard from

he recommended i post in here to get extra help cause we are stumped.

there is definatly a conflict somewhere but where. :(

also latest chipset drivers have been installed.

We are getting somewhere, Vortex was onto it, then nelly hit the nail on the head.

Im useing a XFI Prelude 7.1

I tryed disableing the onboard and completely removing the XFI
that still gave me the 0x00000124 type unrecoverable errors.

i was also told there is 2 settings in the bios for disableing the onboard sound
could having one enabled and one disabled cause this problem ? cause i cant find the other setting to disable lol

But i havent tryed your method yet nelly but removing the xfi and enableing onboard sound then trying to install os then disableing onboard then putting card back in ect

but that still doesnt solve the BSOD during the current vista install as i can pull the card and disable onboard and enable onboard and it still bsods during vista bootup.

Is this board compatible with ATI 4870X2s cause it could be a hardware clash with the cards onboard audio chip but i dont think thats it..

we are getting closer

is there 2 settings in the bios i have to disable to disable the onlboard sound ?

It's a forum of your actual mobo.

'There was recently published a workaround for this problem. It worked for me:

It has been determined that the blue screen of death code 0x00000124 is caused by audio devices in Windows Vista.

This particular issue is industry-wide and can happen on any computer with a sound card or integrated audio and Windows Vista.

We have found a workaround to this issue which should help stabilize the system without sacrifing something as important as your computer's audio devices.

Please perform the following steps to resolve the issue:

1. Go to the BIOS by pressing [DEL] during POST.
2. Go to Advanced Chipset Features.
3. Go to CPU Configuration
4. Select C1E Enhanced Halt State and set it to Disabled
5. Press [F10] to save the changes and exit. '

--------------------------------------

Thats the first thing i did even before this problem cropped up mate was to disable C1E Enhanced Halt State to disabled :/

One more thing when i was primeing ect on blend and small ftts, is 59c load a good temp for overclocking when i get this issue sorted.
i think its good lol

BIOS Type AMI
BIOS Version 080015
System BIOS Date 03/04/09
Video BIOS Date 07/14/08
BIOS Manufacturer
Company Name American Megatrends Inc.

-------------------------

Thats the bios i have installed.
Im running a Thermalright 120 Push and Pull config with 2 120mm Xmat Fans 1500rpm

Also my DDR is showing in everest as useing 1.66v
isnt the default 1.64 or 5 as i dont wanna fry the chips as intel would say with anything much higher on the memory.

anyway before i even start overclocking ect, i want to solve this audio problem, well to me this invisible audio hardware conflict.

----

Man i wish i could solve this audio issue
i dont understand with no sound card installed and the audio disabled in the bios why would it bsod on me when the onboard hardware is disabled ....

i will give it a try tommorow as its a bit late now to be diving into hardware + im slightly tired lol dont want to break something heh

i will report tommorow with my findings cause i know this problem is probably just something stupid.

Right guys i am about to try pulling the card out of the system and enableing onboard then trying to reinstall os.

here is a picture showing my system is completely stable so i dont get it at all LOL

LinX 2+ hour test, should mean i run prime for over 10 hours right ? lol

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH this is really doing my nut in now.

Im still getting a problem
+ now i just experianced a new BSOD, with the words machine check error during vista x64 bootup.

hmmm
it could be to do with the speedstep voltage drops ect ect as when your overclocking your not ment to have that stuff enabled.

whats the settings to disable all that

Tweaking and what not on a x58 motherboard is harder for me than x48..

Can someone that has a biostar Tpower help me overclock
I think i fixed the BSODs cause it doesnt happen anymore on vista bootup

the fix i think was enableing the onboard sound even though i didnt need it.
Im personaly hopeing on a new official bios coming out soon to fix all these erratic problems that you didnt get on x48 chipsets LOL

anyway

can someone possibly nelly give me some example overclocks to try out
im not sure what this Ucore ....

or what volts to change in the voltages cause for some reason at the moment i cant get over 173bclk though all my voltages currently apart from memory is at auto LOL

cheers for the help from anyone

Hi mate i input all the settings in that page and i seem to be getting stuck

i cant go any higher than 173 Bclk :(

I dont understand it i input your settings and when the system reboots it stays on a black screen and on the little LCD thingy on the mobo it reads : 09

for some reason this board doesnt want to go over 173, *i smell someing fishy going on*

has there been any Biostar Tpower released with this issue,
do they all have high Bclks ?? over 200 ?

cause this is the main reason i bought this board becuse of its high overclockablility.

but so far im at a brick wall cause no matter what i do i cant get over 173

please help....

Highest speed i have managed to sucsessfully work is 3.33ghz 21x173 :/
i might just be the only guy on the planet that cant get 3.8 or 4.0

HI mate

the problem isnt with the cpu.

the pc wont even boot up with when i select over 173bclk
what happens when i save settings is the pc will reboot and test settings then instead of it booting it will cycle its self and start up and it will read at the bottom before i press F1 Bios clocks failed or somthing like that

press F1 to enter bios or F2 for defaults.

so its not that i can actually start tweaking at the settings its the fact that i cant get the clocks at over 173 to save.

I dont know what i did but Look at this.....

4.2ghz WOOOOT

dunno how i did it but i need to do tweaking now that i have my ideal speed
tweak tweak tweak LOL

if i get problems i will report or if anyone can tell me what voltages ect i need for 4.2

cheers

Question for anyone ,

Why is it that i can save bios settings correctly with a 21x multi and go as high as 200+ blck

but when i select 20x mulit i can only go as high as 173 blck ????

i have tryed loads of times to get 20x200 but will it boot will it heck lol

anyone have any ideas cause the bios wont save with a 20x200 but it will with a 21x200
