Hello everyone.

I've recently just bought and built my first computer the specs are.

AMD 3600
Corsair rgb pro 16gb 3000mhz
MSI gaming wifi
Windows 10
And an old hd 7900 while I wait for the new graphics card.

The system starts fine but after around 10-20 minutes it either locks up or blues screens :(.

Thanks Matt

Thanks for the replied guys.

The mobo in question is the Msi gaming edge wifi.
I'm using a corsair rm750 modular.
I'll go into bios and see what the temps are after 10 mins what temp should it idle around?

rough approximation as ambient temp etc can vary
30c to 35c thats in bios which is where i first look--no background processes kicking in that way
main thing is it stops rising
ideally before 40c though

Ok thanks I'll check that now I would update the computer but it freezes when installing any software at all.

once checked temperature isnt the problem
i would take xmp off to test
let it default the ram to the low speed
probably not that
but its an easy one to start off with

Had the computer running in Bios for 20 mins and has stayed at 35c for the last 10 minutes.

Will disable XMP and see what it does, is it worth flashing the bios to the last one?

35c is pretty much bang on the mark
Can flash bios as it may be something to do with your problems
Then if still there
Move onto disable xmp

It's not safe to flash BIOS right now, and if he has to, then best to remove the CPU and RAM and drives and GPU, and use BIOS Flashback to eliminate any component fault. Just CPU power cable and 24-pin cable plugged into motherboard, nothing else.

Ok the full spec list is here.
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 no OC
MSI X570 Gaming edge wifi mobo
Corsair vengeance pro RGB 16gb ddr4 3000mhz
WD 500gb name m.2
Corsair rm750 gold psu
Sapphire hd7970 graphics card

Havent overclocked anything, I installed windows 10 off USB drive I let it do its thing for 10 mins then freezes up, when I try to update windows through windows update it just says retry all the time.

So at the minute I'm using a windows USB that is over a year old with no updates i cant even install the graphics drivers.

I can borrow another graphics card, but the card worked fine in the old system.

I've got the ram in the correct slots the second one and the fourth slot.
