Hello guys,

I've just built this new rig and was in the Rift early head start. I wasn't really paying attention to how hot the computer was getting as I didn't think it would be that hot, given that only the CPU is overclocked.

However, after playing I noticed that the following were on these temperatures:
I5 cores: MAX 67c
580gtx (1st one): 84c
second 580gtx: 64c.

Now I've got the CPU cooler with the overclockers bundle:

I've installed 3 120mm fans and have 1 140mm fan also inside the case. Also I have the fans blowing into the case. Should I have them sucking air out of the case?

Are these temperatures okay? Or should I be doing something else?

Thanks in advance guys,

Chris

What case do you have mate?

Also about the graphics cards, there's not a lot you can do when you have 2 in SLI, as the one with the fan facing open air is always going to get more air and the other one facing the other card is just going to get hot air.

You'll always have one hotter than the other.

As for the temperatures, the CPU is fine and the GPU's are fine, they can go up to 110C I believe before it's too hot.

Theres a lot of ways to arrange your fans but I always try to equal them out. i.e two blowing and two blowing out.
Have the outtake fans at the top/rear of the case as the heat rises and the intake at the front/bottom of the case. This will ensure you get the air running evenly through your system.
If you have a side fan maybe you could have that blowing cool air into the gpu space between them if it will (depending on case).

Hi,

If those are full load temperatures you are fine.

One tip is to check the fan speed on the GPU at least, since the stock fans run at very low speeds. On my GTX570 I was nearing the 80oc (which is still safe) and my fans were doing like 40-50% speed, I have changed that now.

A guideline is 1% fan speed for each oC, depending on noise tolerance ofcourse.

Those temps look fine when running under full load. 580's get real hot and as you can see the one in the top is getting warmer because it's sandwiched between the CPU and another 580.

Make sure you have an exit fan at the top or rear extracting all that hot air
