Just built up new comp and it hangs on startup

Just built up new comp and its installing windows REAL slow?

From the start i will lay down my computer knowledge is far from great, i can be guided around things but when it comes to problem solving im hopeless!

I built

On much great advise from here, when it starts the comp gets stuck in start up it did first of all allow me to try install windows but it was running that slow i resatrted comp and now it wont even boot just hangs! any ideas?

To try give a little more detail the last line its hanging on is ACPI controller 9

Is your power supply big enough, i had a simular problem with a 400w supply, upped it to 550w and is running fine now.

Is the RAM in the correct slots?

are all connections secure?

is your CPU mounted securely?

Right the story so far!

Windows is installed it seems to be running better now motherboard drivers are installed
But...

The comp is still pausing for upto 30 seconds to think to do something, but when it does it, boy is it fast!!
I loaded oblivion, and it runs top spec with ease.

But why is it hanging? when i install somet it pauses, it finishes it pauses! :confused:

I click on the drives it pauses for a couple seconds
