Just cant decide on which spec to go, basically what would you pick between these two? Just want it for gaming.

Intel

or

AMD

I can honestly say both will be very similar - i moved from an intel quad @ 3.6ghz (had a high clocked dual @ 4.5ghz just before that too) to the phenom in sig (@ 3.4ghz) and notice barely any difference.

Totally up to you - i suppose with the AMD rig you could add the £25 onto the case budget and pick up something from lian li, coolermaster or even a slightly larger antec.

Pesonally i would go for the top one, But thats only becuase i prefer Intel to AMD :p IMO i have always found them to be better overclockers.

Added wrong card, decided on 4870 instead of the 4890, so got about £50-£70 to play with, depending on if its intel or amd

Agree with above, both will perform very similar in gaming. I've got an E8400 myself, great CPU, overclocks well and offers excellent performance. The AMD will offer a better upgrade path though, socket 775 is out dated now by the newer intel socket, whereas the 720 is the newer AM3, meaning any newer AMD CPU's will work with the motherboard and DDR3 ram. So if it was me, I'd go for the AMD setup, it's cheaper aswell.

Decided to grab a 4890 and stick with the antec 300 case
Definatlly gonna stick to this spec now, thanks all

I'd always advise on getting a seperate boot drive for just windows, and use another for games and applications. See if you can get another SATA HDD in with the extra bit of cash :)
