Just Cause 2 Random Lag?

Hey Guys,

So I saw Just Cause 2 was on a nice sale, had it on PS3 and loved it so i thought I would get it for my new PC.

Downloaded the demo to make sure it runs ok, but im having a problem.

I have got most the settings at max, and 8x AA instead of 16x, and the benchmark gave me a solid 60+ fps which never dipped. When I started the demo the framerate held the same at 60+ and it was fine... Until I jumped off the mountain to the village, where as I moved around I would get drops in the framerate to about 45fps.

This wouldn't be bad, however it doesn't seem like 45 fps, seems more like a slow motion 10 fps and it happens a lot, and it really annoying!

I was wondering if anyone could help solve this, or anyone who had the same problem is this fixed in the full game? etc.

I don't know what the problem is but I can tell you its almost inevitably to do with games for windows live which this game uses.

Setting shadows to medium will do the trick.

The game is a Steamworks title, it doesn't use Windows Live.
