3rd rock...
Its a funny thing about Just Cause 2. It has caused me no problems at all. Worked flawless on Eyefinity right out of the box. Never crashed once. Not once. Graphics maxed out with no stuttering, smooth as silk. And what spectacular graphics. Also the sheer free-roamer aspect of it is a blast (pun?).

But then it got old. Fast. The endless must-stay-awake-Im-at-95%-on-this-settlement-will-just-finish-off-before-bed thing while fun when I first got the game is now utterly boring.

Im about to uninstall it now, Im not thrilled to be doing it as the game visually is such a treat, specially across 3 screens. But man..the gameplay to me now is like watching paint dry.

And so I stared open-mouthed at a buddy of mine who recently finished the game on his PS3. Yep. Each and every settlement, village, hotel and everything in between at a 100%. All the side missions done. Faction missions done. Merc mode done.

H...h..how?? He admittedly is an extremely chilled out dude with a Zen-like calm. Maybe that helped.

But not for me...JC2 - your production values are spectacular, props to the team who created you. But I guess the super-repetitious gameplay did it for me.

How many of you on here completed it?...anyone else in the same boat as me lol. What do you think of the game...?

And now...well back to Stalker SSOC. Yea. I still havent finished that! And then I shall install Metro 2033 :o

MP!?

The firing system was shocking, every gun I had used could get an automatic headshot. On the hardest difficulty it was retardedly easy. It has no recoil or anything. Even trying to support it with MP is a ridiculous notion.

I know multiplayer mode is being worked on but thats probably a long way off.

Hmmm...I can see how it would be a fun game for MP. Running around grappling people and flinging them off cliffs etc would be much more fun with mates!

@ LeJosh just saw what you said - autoheadshot...man that sucks.

I still enjoy it but then I flick between games, I don't just play one to completion then move on.

I also have no intention of 100%ing every little village, i'm just going to play through the story mode. I've never been very taken with side quests in any games.

I've been watching folks play on OnLive. I never realised that there were full built-up areas like cities and stuff. I thought it was all barren and sparsely populated!

Thats the pity about this game...the villages, cities etc are so well done...Id say brilliantly done. Everything but the gameplay is great. It feels like GTA with all the story ripped away leaving nothing.

How many more fuel depots to take out before you pick up your keyboard and eat it in frustration :D

Graphics wise it is a beautiful game but the short story doesn't justify the massive world. For such a huge game, the story should have been deeply immersive and highly complex complementing the huge world that it is.

I totally and utterly agree. If they had done this it would have been an epic game. JC2 I feel is a great example of the fact that stellar graphics can only go so far.

Theres a reason people still play PacMan.

I completed the main story and have done a bunch of settlements... It was worth the money for the time I got from it, however, I just load it up occasionally now for a bit of sandbox style fun/stress relief (attaching people to flying gas canisters etc).

I totally agree that it's a shame that the whole thing wasn't more immersive given the amazing quallity of the in-game graphics. :(

I like Just Cause 2, but stopped playing a bit before Christmas due to other games. I did complete the story and got into Mercenary Mode, so it's not like I've just left the game hanging. It was my intention while playing, though, to get all settlements to 100% and to collect those package things, but I don't know if I can be bothered now with all the other--and arguably better--games I have yet to play.

I have to agree with the OP.

I still need to complete the story. I gave up pretty quickly, and have since just used it for sandbox gaming, like GTA IV.
