Anyone else get this?
Game 'pulse-stutters' is the best way I can put it, like periodically rapidly waxing and waning through different densities of treacle lol. Apparently a common problem to do with V-sync when googling.

I tried it with it with v-sync off and smooth as silk but ruddy tearing:(

So tried nvidia control panel v-sync force: on and triple buffering forced: on
and not convinced that's working either.

What would fix this a patch for the game or new drivers?
I'm on 257.15, the latest.

PS: turning shadows from high to medium and turning off SSAO gives sooo much more performance, however this is the first time i've felt compelled to OC my GPU, sat at 702mhz core now.

The feeling you describe is definitely VSync its not a problem with the game as such. Triple buffering might help but personally I find I feel the lagginess even with it on in most games so I'd rather live with the tearing.

Disable Vsync and Triple buffering in the Nvdia control panel and disable in the game.

Download rivatuner, use D3D Overrider and force Vsync and Triple Buffering.

This Tends to use Vsync /TB better for some reason and ive found the problem that you describe will be fixed or better in games.

Edit: SSAO is a complete killer for Frames in games

Mine crashes after 15 mins saying the device driver failed and its just recovered. Doesn't seem to be a solution to it either, for some people it just stopped happening, whilst others it is still occuring. They really need to release a patch for this!

what drivers are you using, have you tried different ones?

Have you kept a eye on your temps/fan speed?

Have you tried to run game as Administrator /Ive had to do this for Metro 2033 to stop crashing?

JC2 has terrible performance with vsync on and is the only game that I've need to disable vsync, having it off I can max everything and get smooth fps so I obviously prefer it off

Not played Just Cause 2 yet but the only game I ever got this message with was Far Cry 2, despite playing most of the other FPS out around the same time. Overclocked/normal - made no difference. Drivers - nope. The only thing that helped 'a little' was ditching most of the AA and a few other bits (can't remember exactly which).
