Just Cause 2

Graphics are gorgous as well on the demo, the PC is really starting to shine against consoles again, night and day how well it looks versus the 360 demo.

Not just that, but it runs fantastically. I suspect in part due to them not bothering with XP support and playing to the strengths of Dx10.

Also, if you have bought it off Steam - just type steam://install/8190 in your browser and you'll preload the files. It wont show up in the client as preloading, but it WILL preload and the files will be ready for unlocking tomorrow at 7pm ;)

Dark tower - 58.33 avg frames (not bad with it capped at 60) - everything max at 1900*1200.

Enjoying the game, but only played for about 2 hours so far :)

Still deciding whether to go mouse/keyboard or gamepad - using gamepad atm. What are you all using?

Ok, you guys are helping me to resist the temptation to buy this. The fun for me comes from the degree of difficulty associated with performing those impressive stunts. If anyone can do it relatively easily, it's not very satisfying. And that always leads to buyer's remorse... for full price titles anyway.

I'm still tempted though. There's a very nice Far Cry (1!) vibe about some of the promo vids.

lol, just increase the difficulty ;). It isnt as easy as it sounds.

I have to admit - I was tempted to go max difficulty, but decided in the end on normal. Glad I made that decision, because I have died a few times and it is VERY frustrating having to go all the way back to the safe house.

5 hours isn't all that much though - and surely he should have worked it out before 5 hours of play!!!

Yeah thats been my biggest gripe with the game so far, awesome action slowed down by boring box searches

I dont mind them too much. What is annoying me is that enemies keep randomly respawning - so I am searching for that one box and have to kill some enemies 3-4 times - annoying when ammo can be hard to find and respawn points for myself are far away. Other than that the game is great!

Other than Steam sales, when is retail not cheaper than Steam?

That's Steams biggest failing, if games were more competatively priced I think I would buy all my games through Steam.

As it is I just wait for the sales.

Steam can't undercut retailers though as they have said they will stop selling the products - the Steam sales are how they get around this. Given how strong Steam is as a distribution platform now, I think they should just go ahead and out compete retailers.

Seem to get FPS drop off when driving at high speed - never noticed it before. Rest of the time the game sticks to 60fps, kind of annoying. Took over one of the airports (with the fighters jets that come out) - but now they have stopped :(
