Just Cause 3 performance

I'm running my 2500k at 4.4ghz with 16 GB RAM and a 1060 3gb.

It runs at 60fps at 1080p with everything very high, but can drop to as little as 30fps. During this time neither the GPU or CPU are 100%, it seems to be related to the alpha affects but not 100% sure, I struggle to find an area of the map that consistently lowers the frame rate in order to see which settings make any difference.

Any ideas?

It's always ran like garbage. I'd assume it was your CPU if anything. Have you tried it with vsync off - it always used to have a habit of locking at 30fps if the fps was dropping, even if I set it at 60Hz vsync.

Sounds about right. It's always been pretty terrible performance wise.

That's a shame, I previously played it on PS4 and thought the extra CPU grunt from a PC would help.

Mine is running smooth as butter, all maxed out at 1440p, It's been one the best running titles I have.

About 80-100fps in the open.
