Hi all

This morning.. i went about trying to reduce temps on my XP 3200.

I took the heatsink off, and cleaned up the CPU. I then took the Heatsink/Fan apart and removed all the dust etc. Re-seated the heatsink with some new thermal compound.

My CPU fan is a thermaltake volcano 11, which has quite a big fan gaurd on top of it. I took this off, and mounted a Akasa case fan above it using a Zalman fan bracket.

After all this, i took out some wire cutters, and completely cut out the mesh grill on the back of the case where the fans were.

After all of this, my CPU temps have reduced quite a lot :) At load the temps are reaching around 50c with the fan speed at half. Before these changes the temps were getting up to around 60c with full fan speed

All in all... It was worth it.. just wanted to let anyone else know that it really can make a difference :)
