Right,

I just built a new system.

Specs are:
E6550 Dual core
Gigabyte DS3R Mobo
2 GB Corsair PC5300 RAM
Gefoce 7200GS 256MB graphics card
USB 2.0 card
2x80 GB Maxtor (Sata-Raid 0)
1x 80GB Maxtor which is a slave to a Pioneer DVR108 writer
All powered by a HIper 520W PSU

System switches on fine etc
I set it to boot from CD

Windows says it is loading, then it goes to a blue Vista screen (different shades of blue,no text etc) with an hour-glass and no activity there-of (i.e. no hard disk activity, cd rom activity etc) ... it just stays there..

I tried rebooting and trying it numerous times but no luck!

Anyone know whats going on?

cheers

go into your bios, check voltages are correct for your hardware especially your RAM, DDR2 is usually 2V, but check what it is for your ram

ok I think voltages are fine

its working now

My system does not have a floppy drive though the BIOS had floppy drive selected by default.. I disabled that and Vista seems to install now... weird.. seems quite fussy.. all trial and error really!

It hung on that screen with me for ages too tonight, had dinner whilst it sat there, then it moved on. Think it's just being a git ha.
