thanks for the help, think i will go pick up one of these cables when im home, but im not gunna get rid of the other because i am planning on getting a HDTV asap but still not sure when i will be able to afford one :p

I used my 360 with a Toshiba 32" TV with the RGB Scart for quite a while but I finally pursuaded the boss (the mrs) and got a 32" Toshiba LCD (32WLT66) about a month ago. You probably don't need to hear this (again) but it's superb :)

Btw, I don't get chance to play much online but I'm quite social so feel free to add me (or I'll add you) to the friends list. What games have you got btw?

GRAW, FIFA RTWC (i want the new one now tho :(), PGR3, NFS:MW, Amped3, Riiiiiidge Racer 6 and that is it for now :)

i shall go add you now if you haven't already done so :)

I will add the two of you when I am next on :)

Currently only have PGR3 thats online playable (Oblivion and TR Legends are my only other games ATM).

I am not overly impressed with it just yet, kinda looks fuzzy and not too sharp in game, maybe cos its not on a HDTV ?

I don't think it helps its through composite leads/scart adaptor either, have ordered the Joytech RGB, S-video and Optical audio all in one cable, hopfully that will make things much sharper until I can afford a HDTV ?

that's the cable i use. it makes such a difference. even on my cheap 25" alba tv!

He's always talked rubbish though, you do need HDTV, SDTV is awful and I for one wouldn't go back.

you don't NEED a HDTV. It's merely a luxury item for those lucky enough to be able to afford one.

OP...If you use a SDTV you won't be disappointed. The games still look awesome, and because the 360 runs at a lower resolution when hooked up to a SDTV you'll have less chance of any dodgy framerates. Tomb Raider was jerk-o-vision in places on HDTV but silky smooth on SDTV :)

edit....just noticed you've got a HDTV now. rich git :p

Aye, that's the one & same here > http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000EFTEXU/203-2190545-0217540

Some people argue that the official MS leads give a better picture but I think that's somewhat debatable (I have a Joytech Component lead as I bought a core (got it release day) and my picture's just as good as with an MS lead (have tried it as well).

If you don't plan on buying a HD TV anytime soon you can also sell off the Component Lead.

I got my 360 core hooked up to a standard fat screen (fat not flat) via the cable I got with the core system(its a SCART). If i bought that all in one dongle will that make the picture better? Or do i have the best for my fat screen already?

EDIT: Also, what is the difference between the "RGB Scart AV Cable" and the "Xbox 360 Advanced AV Cable"?

if it's the one you got with your core then i would guess that you have three leads (red, white and yellow) going into a scart adaptor?

if that's the case, then you would do well to get a proper rgb scart lead. the joytech one is good. a lot of people on these boards use them, including me and we swear by them. it'd be £15 well spent!
